Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Rebel Spirit Tarot mobile application and any related websites, services, and content (collectively, the “App”). The App is operated by Rebel Spirit LLC (“Rebel Spirit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Please read these Terms carefully before using the App. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Nature of the App (No Professional Advice)

Rebel Spirit Tarot is a tarot reading and journaling tool intended for personal reflection, creativity, and entertainment.

Nothing in the App constitutes or should be taken as:

• Medical, mental health, or therapeutic advice
• Legal, financial, or professional advice
• A guarantee of future events or outcomes

You are solely responsible for your decisions and actions. If you need professional support (for example, medical, mental health, legal, or financial), you should consult a qualified professional and call local emergency services in urgent situations.

2. Eligibility

You may use the App only if:

• You are at least 13 years old, and
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms under the laws of your jurisdiction, or you have obtained consent from a parent or legal guardian if you are under the age of majority.

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account or provided personal information, please contact us.

By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Accounts and Security

3.1 Account creation

To save readings or journal entries, access certain features, or use cloud sync, you must create an account. You may create an account via:

• Email and password
• Sign in with Apple or Google (single sign-on / OAuth)

You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information and to keep it updated.

3.2 Account security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• Restricting access to your device and account
• All activities that occur under your account

If you believe your account has been compromised, you should:

• Change your password (if applicable), and
• Contact us at rachael@rebelspirit.app.

We are not responsible for loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the security of your account or device.

4. Content and Data

4.1 User content

The App allows you to save readings and journaling content, including:

• Spread layouts and card positions
• Timestamps and tags/intents
• Optional personal notes you choose to write

Collectively, this is your “User Content.” You retain ownership of your User Content. By using the App, you grant Rebel Spirit a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store and process your User Content solely:

• To provide and maintain the App and its features (including backup and sync), and
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your User Content to third parties or use your private journal text for targeted advertising.

4.2 Local vs. cloud storage

Depending on your account type:

• Registered users without a subscription may keep their readings and journal entries only on their device (local storage).
• Subscribers have their readings and journal entries synced to our database to provide backup and multi-device access.

Content stored only on your device is primarily protected by your device’s security (such as passcode or biometric lock). If someone gains access to your unlocked device or its backup, they may be able to access content in the App. You are responsible for securing your device.

5. Subscriptions, Credits, and Purchases

5.1 Subscription tiers

Rebel Spirit Tarot may offer free and paid tiers, including:

• A basic subscription that enables cloud sync, and
• A premium subscription that includes cloud sync and recurring credits for unlocking cosmetic or optional content.

Details of available tiers, pricing, and benefits are provided within the App.

5.2 In-app purchases and billing

Paid subscriptions and in-app purchases (including credit packs) are processed by Apple’s App Store or Google Play (the “App Stores”). We do not process or store your full payment card details.

By starting a subscription or making a purchase, you authorize the applicable App Store to charge you according to its terms, including:

• Recurring billing for subscriptions (monthly or yearly), and
• Local taxes or fees, as applicable.

Renewals, cancellations, refunds, and billing issues are generally handled through the App Store’s own policies and interfaces. Please review the relevant App Store terms for details.

5.3 Credits and unlockable content

The App uses virtual credits (“Credits”) that you can purchase or receive as part of a subscription. Credits may be used to unlock digital items, such as:

• Card backs
• Other in-app optional features

Unless explicitly stated otherwise:

• Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are non-refundable.
• Unlocked items are associated with your account and may not be transferred or sold.
• We may change, add, or remove items available for unlock, or change their credit cost, at any time.

Where required by law, we will handle refunds or adjustments in accordance with applicable consumer protection rules and the App Store’s policies.

5.4 Price and feature changes

We may change subscription prices, tiers, or included features in the future. We will generally notify you in advance of any price increase affecting an ongoing subscription, in accordance with App Store requirements. Continued use or non-cancellation after the effective date is deemed acceptance of the new price.

6. Account and Data Deletion

6.1 Deleting your account

You may request deletion of your account at any time, either:

• Through in-app profile settings, or
• By contacting us at rachael@rebelspirit.app from the email associated with your account.

When you request account deletion, we will:

• Delete or anonymize your account profile and identifiers stored in our backend
• Delete cloud-stored readings and journal entries associated with your account
• Delete or reset credits and unlocked-content records linked to your user ID, subject to any legal retention requirements

We may retain certain transaction records or financial information in anonymized or de-identified form to comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations.

6.2 Deleting specific data

Within the App, you may delete individual readings or journal entries where supported. You may also contact us if you have specific data deletion requests. Some data may be retained in backup or aggregated form for a limited period as described in our Privacy Policy.

Deleting the App from your device will remove locally stored data from that device, but will not automatically delete your cloud account or cloud-stored data.

7. License and Intellectual Property

7.1 License to use the App

Subject to these Terms, Rebel Spirit grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Download and install the App on a device you own or control, and
• Use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

We reserve all rights not expressly granted under these Terms.

7.2 Our content

The App and its content—including but not limited to text, artwork, card interpretations, graphics, logos, icons, images, and layouts—are owned by Rebel Spirit LLC or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You agree not to:

• Copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the App or its content (except for your own User Content)
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where expressly permitted by law
• Use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written permission

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App:

• In any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• To harass, abuse, or harm others
• To upload or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, or otherwise objectionable
• To attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, other users’ accounts, or our systems
• To interfere with or disrupt the operation of the App, including by distributing malware or engaging in denial-of-service attacks

We may, at our sole discretion, suspend or terminate your access to the App if we believe you have violated these Terms or pose a risk to the App or its users.

9. Third-Party Services

The App may integrate with or rely on third-party services such as:

• Firebase / Google Cloud (for hosting and data storage)
• RevenueCat (for managing subscriptions and in-app purchases)
• Apple App Store and Google Play Store (for distribution and payments)

Your use of those services may be subject to additional terms and privacy policies provided by those third parties. Rebel Spirit is not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services.

10. Changes to the App

We may modify, update, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time, including adding or removing features, content, or compatibility with certain devices.

We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App or any of its features, subject to applicable consumer protection laws and App Store rules.

11. Disclaimers

The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
• Warranties that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components
• Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any interpretations, content, or information provided through the App

Use of the App is at your own risk.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rebel Spirit LLC and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the App, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claims arising out of or relating to the App or these Terms will not exceed the amount you have paid to us for the App or subscriptions in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rebel Spirit LLC and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

• Your use of the App
• Your User Content
• Your violation of these Terms or applicable law

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and your use of the App are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Washington State, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts.

If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that requires a different governing law or forum for certain consumer disputes, these provisions will apply only to the extent permitted by that law.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will:

• Update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and
• Provide notice in the App or on our website if changes are material.

Your continued use of the App after the updated Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the App.
