Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Rebel Spirit Tarot mobile application and any related websites, services, and content (collectively, the “App”). The App is operated by Rebel Spirit LLC (“Rebel Spirit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Please read these Terms carefully before using the App. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Nature of the App (No Professional Advice)

Rebel Spirit Tarot is a tarot reading, journaling, and astrology charting tool intended for personal reflection, creativity, and entertainment.

Nothing in the App constitutes or should be taken as:

• Medical, mental health, or therapeutic advice
• Legal, financial, or professional advice
• A guarantee of future events or outcomes
• A substitute for the judgment of a qualified professional

You are solely responsible for your decisions and actions. If you need professional support (for example, medical, mental health, legal, or financial), you should consult a qualified professional and call local emergency services in urgent situations.

2. Eligibility

You may use the App only if:

• You are at least 13 years old, and
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms under the laws of your jurisdiction, or you have obtained consent from a parent or legal guardian if you are under the age of majority.

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account or provided personal information, please contact us.

By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Accounts and Cloud Sync

The App does not require you to create an account. Core features — readings, journaling, and astrology — work without signing in, and your content stays on your device.

Optional cloud sync. If you are a subscriber, you may create an account with an email address and password to enable optional cloud sync, which lets you back up your content, restore it on a new device, and sync across your own devices. When you set this up, the App creates an encryption key on your device and gives you a one-time recovery code. You are responsible for keeping that recovery code safe. Because your end-to-end encrypted content is protected with a key only you hold, we cannot reset or recover your recovery code, and we cannot restore that end-to-end encrypted content for you if it is lost. If you lose your recovery code and no longer have a device that is already set up, your end-to-end encrypted content cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. Resetting your account password does not affect or recover your recovery code. (End-to-end encryption currently covers your birth data and saved profiles and is rolling out to your readings and journal — see our Privacy Policy.)

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials and your recovery code confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must promptly notify us of any unauthorized use.

You are also responsible for:

• The security of your device, including using a passcode or biometric lock
• Backing up your device, or enabling cloud sync, if you wish to preserve your readings, journal, birth data, and settings

If you do not enable cloud sync, uninstalling the App, clearing its data, or losing your device may result in the loss of any locally stored content.

4. Your Content and Data

The App allows you to save readings and journal entries (including spread layouts, cards drawn, timestamps, tags, and optional personal notes), and to enter birth data (such as dates, times, and places of birth for yourself and profiles you add) used to generate astrological charts (collectively, your “User Content”).

You retain ownership of your User Content. By default, it is stored only on your device, and we do not receive or have access to it.

If you enable optional cloud sync, your birth data and saved profiles are end-to-end encrypted on your device before upload, and we cannot read them. Your readings and journal entries are not yet end-to-end encrypted; while that rollout completes they are stored encrypted in transit and at rest, and until then our systems are technically able to access them (see our Privacy Policy). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, transmit, and process your User Content solely to provide the backup, restore, and sync features you have enabled, and to comply with legal obligations. This license ends when you delete your synced content or your account.

You are responsible for the accuracy of any information you enter into the App, and for your User Content. If you save birth data about other people, you are responsible for doing so lawfully. 5. Subscriptions, Credits, and Purchases

5.1 Subscription tiers

Rebel Spirit Tarot may offer free and paid subscription tiers. Details of available tiers, pricing, and benefits are provided within the App. Certain features — including cloud sync, multi-device access, the astrology room, premium spreads, and the full card library — are available only to subscribers and require an active subscription to use.

5.2 In-app purchases and billing

Paid subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple’s App Store or Google Play (the “App Stores”) and managed on our side through RevenueCat. We do not process or store your full payment card details.

By starting a subscription or making a purchase, you authorize the applicable App Store to charge you according to its terms, including:

• Recurring billing for subscriptions (monthly or yearly), and
• Local taxes or fees, as applicable.

Renewals, cancellations, refunds, and billing issues are generally handled through the App Store’s own policies and interfaces. Please review the relevant App Store terms for details.

Free trial. Some subscriptions may include a free trial period at the start, the length of which is shown to you before you confirm the purchase. If you do not cancel before the end of the free trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the price shown at purchase and will renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time through your Apple ID or Google Account settings; cancelling before the end of the trial avoids any charge.

5.3 Credits and unlockable content

The App may offer virtual credits (“Credits”) and/or one-time unlocks for digital items, such as:

• Card backs
• Other in-app optional content or features

Unless explicitly stated otherwise:

• Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are non-refundable.
• Unlocked items are associated with your account and may not be transferred or sold.
• We may change, add, or remove items available for unlock, or change their credit cost, at any time.

Where required by law, we will handle refunds or adjustments in accordance with applicable consumer protection rules and the App Store’s policies.

5.4 Auto-renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time through your Apple ID or Google Account subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

5.5 Price and feature changes

We may change subscription prices, tiers, or included features in the future. We will generally notify you in advance of any price increase affecting an ongoing subscription, in accordance with App Store requirements. Continued use or non-cancellation after the effective date is deemed acceptance of the new price.

6. Account and Data Deletion

6.1 Deleting your account

You may request deletion of your account at any time, either:

• Through in-app profile settings, or
• By contacting us at rachael@rebelspirit.app from the email associated with your account.

When you delete your account, we will:

• Delete your account record and authentication identifiers
• Delete your synced content (journal entries and birth-data profiles) and your encryption vault from our servers
• Retain certain purchase and transaction records in de-identified form (with your user ID and email removed) to comply with tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations

6.2 Deleting specific data

Within the App, you may delete individual readings, journal entries, birth data, and profiles at any time. If cloud sync is on, deletions sync to our servers and replace the entry’s stored content. You may also export your data from the App at any time.

Deleting the App from your device will remove locally stored data from that device, but will not automatically delete your cloud account or synced data.

7. License and Intellectual Property

7.1 License to use the App

Subject to these Terms, Rebel Spirit grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Download and install the App on a device you own or control, and
• Use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

We reserve all rights not expressly granted under these Terms.

7.2 Our content

The App and its content — including but not limited to text, artwork, card and astrological interpretations, graphics, logos, icons, images, and layouts — are owned by Rebel Spirit LLC or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You agree not to:

• Copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the App or its content (except for your own User Content)
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where expressly permitted by law
• Use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written permission

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App:

• In any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• To harass, abuse, or harm others
• To attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, other users’ accounts, or our systems
• To interfere with or disrupt the operation of the App, including by distributing malware or engaging in denial-of-service attacks
• To circumvent in-app purchase mechanisms or otherwise misuse the billing system

We may, at our sole discretion, suspend or terminate your access to the App if we believe you have violated these Terms or pose a risk to the App or its users.

9. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including:

• Firebase / Google Cloud — provides the authentication and cloud-storage backend for accounts, optional cloud sync, and purchase records
• RevenueCat — for managing subscriptions and in-app purchases
• OpenStreetMap Foundation (Nominatim) — for looking up birth-place coordinates when you search for a place
• Apple App Store and Google Play Store — for distribution and payments

Your use of those services may be subject to additional terms and privacy policies provided by those third parties. Rebel Spirit is not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services.

10. Changes to the App

We may modify, update, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time, including adding or removing features, content, or compatibility with certain devices.

We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App or any of its features, subject to applicable consumer protection laws and App Store rules.

11. Disclaimers

The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
• Warranties that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components
• Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any tarot interpretations, astrological calculations, or other content provided through the App

Tarot and astrological content and calculations are provided for personal reflection and entertainment only. Use of the App is at your own risk.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rebel Spirit LLC and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the App, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claims arising out of or relating to the App or these Terms will not exceed the amount you have paid to us for the App or subscriptions in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rebel Spirit LLC and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

• Your use of the App
• Your User Content
• Your violation of these Terms or applicable law

14. Termination

You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or discontinue the App, or your access to it, at our discretion, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.

Upon termination, the rights granted to you under these Terms will cease. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and your use of the App are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Washington State, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts.

If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that requires a different governing law or forum for certain consumer disputes, these provisions will apply only to the extent permitted by that law.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will:

• Update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and
• Provide notice in the App or on our website if changes are material.

Your continued use of the App after the updated Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the App.
